This is the toy shop. There are many traditional toys such as spinning tops, kites, wooden paddles, and souvenirs. Many visitors like to buy chiyogami, a decorative Japanese paper, and accessories made from them.

"Kurashiki Hariko" are papier mâché figures.  Every process used in making the figures is done by hand, including the wooden molds are made by craftsmen. One of their famous figures is a tiger.

The tradition in the Kurashiki area is to present a Hariko tiger to a newborn baby boy, so it's not surprising that tigers are the most common design, found in various sizes.
